The Maca root has its origin in the Peruvian high Andes and grows there at an altitude of over 3000 meters. Despite the barren environment, the roots are full of revitalizing nutrients and have been considered a true miracle plant in Peru for centuries. In South America, the root is consumed raw or processed into powder. In Europe, the plant is mainly offered in powder form.
Due to its slightly sweet taste, our Maca powder is particularly suitable for preparing with cacao, shakes and delicious desserts. Maca powder is an aphrodisiac and is also rich in valuable minerals such as iron, potassium, zinc and potassium. 

Origin

We get our Maca superfood from our partners in the Cajamarca region in the Peruvian Andes. In this project, special emphasis is placed on social and societal influence. Our partner, Villa Andina, has strong ties to smallholders and rural life and wants to improve the living conditions of everyone involved in the supply chain. The maca roots are sustainably grown by small farming families, thus protecting the rainforest and the environment. Fairtrade and organic standards apply.
